Reading and writing in a language are two sides of a coin. They are so closely related to each other. Reading is a kind of input and writing is a process of output. You have to combine these related elements in an organized manner to learn Chinese language quickly. Integration of these components requires dedicated effort and daily practice. Many of the foreigners studying Chinese often overlook the close interaction between reading and writing. You have to understand the difference in sound system and syntax between Chinese and other languages. Learning of Chinese language can be divided into four phases listening, speaking, reading and writing.

1. Maintain a preparation guide that tells you what to do each day before and after a class. Preparation is essential for learning Chinese quickly.
2. Read the textbooks or anything that you read in Chinese language loudly. This will help you to speak the language easily.
3. Try to read Chinese newspapers and story books. Always lookout for topics that makes you more interested.
4. Practice reading textbooks loudly in front of a mirror. This will help to boost your confidence to talk in front of others.
5. It is impossible to learn Chinese language by studying only once a week. Learning little everyday is more effective.

The basic communication in Chinese language requires the development of speaking ability. A learner from a foreign country cannot improve your speaking skill without developing the reading skill. You may not be able to understand all the words you are reading. Increase your pace in reading gradually and skim for the main ideas. Usually a paragraph contains an important idea on the topic; try to pick it up while reading. It is better to read out loudly. This will help you to understand what you read better. Making reading as a habit is difficult but you can use your spare time to read and learn new words.
